AMERICAN COIN SILVER ~ Daniel Van Voorhis
Here's a fine pair of American coin silver teaspoons, just over 5-1/2" long, with brightcut, reverse-tipt, turned-back shoulerless handles, and stepped drops. The front sideways monogram appears to be CBV. The marks are D.V.V in a rectangle and a left-facing eagle, wing tips out, in a diamond -- ascribed to Daniel Van Voorhis.
Per McGrew, these marks were used by this silversmith in Philadelphia in 1780, in Princeton, NJ in 1782, with various partners in NYC from 1784-1802.
