Per Belden, “At work in 1780. Dissolution of partnership of Dally & Halsey, 1789. The mark shown (P / pellet / D in a rectangle), here tentatively attributed to Dally, is on a decidedly downturned featheredge tablespoon with short midrib and slashed drop; inscribed I*C in block lettering on handle front.”
Pair of 8-7/8” shoulderless, downturned tablespoons, reverse tipped, and elongated drops are slashed. Style suggests c. 1770. Front block monogram M*R appears on both. The PD mark is struck two separate times on both.
One bowl shows some minor dings inside. Nice gauge. Weight of the pair is 4.2 oz (3.8 ozt) |
