FINE VINTAGE CHINA BY LENOX
For the flower lovers ~ an impressive pair of matching vases, made by Lenox and hand-painted and signed by Jan Nosek. (See below for more information on this artist.) Each vase shows purple irises on one side and yellow irises on the other. So you can orient the vases with a matched set of irises, or with one purple and one yellow set showing.
The vase itself has pale antique yellow at top and bottom, the classis Lenox cream ground in the middle, and gold trims accenting from top to bottom.
Size: 16" tall, greatest width approximately 6.5". Feel free to ask for any other measurements you may need.
Piece / pattern numbers: 525 / T360. The green Lenox mark indicates this piece pre-dates 1952, when they switched to a gold mark.
Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs.

About J. Nosek (ref. Worthpoint): Jan (Hans) Nosek 1876-1966 was born in Czechoslovakia. He exhibited at the Leipzig art fair in the 1890's. He came to America around the turn of the century.. He worked for Lenox porcelain from 1903-1908 and is well known among Lenox collectors for his painting of beautiful women on large lenox vases. From 1908 -1939 he was an illustrator for among others Pictorial Review magazine. In 1939 he joined Lenox again as a porcelain painter and worked until 1954.
