Some people deride Lenox and other American china maufacturing companies in favor of European china. Personally, I think this is one of most beautiful china patterns Lenox ever put out. In it's heyday of the late 1950s and early 1960s, it was also the most expensive pattern you could buy. In the 1965 Lenox catalog, this Westport pattern sold for $75.00 for a 5 piece place setting; much more than the $50 Westchester pattern. The teal blue band, ivory china and gold rims and designs around it make it exceptionally beautiful, elegant and timeless; reminiscent of 18th Century Versaille.
