This charming American coin silver tea set was made by Peter Chitry of New York (wc 1812-36). This is a nice clean set comprised of teapot, lidded sugar bowl, and creamer ~ all featuring florally decorated finials and trims. A very similar Chitry teapot is in the collection of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. They describe the teapot's spout as "terminating in a greyhound head."
Measurements: Teapot height to top of finial is 9.5". The sugar bowl stands 6.25" to its finial's top, and the creamer stands 6.5" tall at the spout's apex.
There is a monogram, but it is too worn to make out (see last photo). Possibly HCC.
Total weight: 64.9 ozt
Condition: A few visible dings. The handles are secure, all pins intact. Clean interiors.
