ANTIQUE ENGLISH BONE CHINA BY ROYAL DOULTON

So pretty ~ and about 100 years old! Here is a set of 8 dinner / service plates nicely decorated and with a scalloped, patterned gold rim. The border decoration is enhanced by raised paste gold in the design to add texture and catch the light. The center ground is winter white / off-white, while the rim is cream. There is also a patterned gold band at the inner verge.

The gold-lined base on the back of these plates was a nice touch that Royal Doulton added to many of its finest service plates.

The maker's mark (lion over rondelle) was used by Royal Doulton between the years 1922 and 1927.

No chips, cracks, crazing, gold wear, or repairs. Minimal signs of previous usage. One plate shows faint light gray 'ghosts' at the inner rim. Hard to capture in photos, our apologies. The last picture has arrows to help point them out.
